45 Tons Trackless Battery Powered Transfer cart facilitates smart logistics
Dilemma of use:
A heavy machinery manufacturer, while expanding its production line, faced challenges with low cross-workshop transfer efficiency for heavy components (each weighing 15-40 tons) and significant equipment wear in high temperature environments. Traditional rail mounted transfer carts, constrained by fixed routes, could not meet the flexible production needs of multiple locations.
Solution:
The company introduced a 45 tons trackless battery powered transfer cart, optimizing the entire material transfer process through a customized solution.
The cart features a cast steel frame and a compact design measuring 3000 x 1500 x 1200 mm. While capable of carrying a 45 tons load, its polyurethane wheels and steering system allow for flexible maneuvers with a minimum turning radius of 5 meters, completely eliminating the constraints of rails. To cope with the workshop's persistent high temperatures of 38°C, the transfer cart utilizes a high temperature resistant battery and heat dissipation design. Combined with a hydraulic lift mechanism (adjustable from 0 to 300 mm), it can be directly connected to production line conveyor rollers at varying heights, enabling seamless loading and unloading of workpieces.
Intelligent:
The wireless remote control + PLC encoding system enables precise control within a 100 meters range, and the LED display shows battery level and fault codes in real time. A laser dead man stop and safety edge provide dual protection, automatically braking when a person approaches within 3 meters.
Application:
During a batch transfer of large gearboxes, the machine's expandable table (up to 2000mm wide) accommodates workpieces of varying sizes, reducing single-trip transfer time by 40% compared to traditional methods.
To date, the machine has been operating stably for six months, handling over 5,000 tons of material and helping the company reduce its workforce by eight workers. Its environmentally friendly, zero-emission features and modular customization capabilities have made it a key enabler for the "dark factory" transformation in industries such as building materials and heavy machinery.
