Production Line Low Voltage Rail Powered Transfer Cart for Mold Handling
Recently unveiled is a 10 tons low voltage rail powered rail guided vehicle (RGV) specifically engineered for high-temperature environments in mould factories. Its innovative double-deck structure resolves the challenge of transporting heavy molds.
The transfer vehicle features a 4000×2200×1500mm cast steel modular frame. The lower level receives continuous power supply via low voltage rails, while the upper level employs a cable towed trolley integrated with an automatic flipping hook. This enables fully automated transfer of 800°C high temperature molds throughout the entire process from the forging line to the spraying line.
The core breakthrough lies in its ‘dual-energy, dual-control’ system: dual-energy supply from low voltage rails and tow cables ensures unrestricted operational timing, while insulated wheels and high temperature resistant cable assemblies adapt to 45°C workshop environments.
Wireless remote control integrated with PLC coded systems and LED displays achieve ±2mm precision docking, complemented by laser dead man's stop and three colors audible-visual warning lights for comprehensive safety protection. The automated towing hook secures molds within 3 seconds, tripling loading/unloading efficiency compared to conventional overhead cranes.
During a pilot at a major mould manufacturer, this RGV reduced high temperature mold transfer time from 40 to 12 minutes, boosting single-shift output by 150%. Its dual-level design and customized services support multi-mould combination transport, making it suitable for high temperature applications such as automotive body panels and home appliance molds. This represents a pivotal step in advancing the mould manufacturing industry towards “lights-out factory” transformation.
