In the sandblasting process for heavy steel structures, large components need to be transferred between the sandblasting booth and different workstations. Due to the heavy weight of the workpieces and the long transport distances, traditional handling methods are easily limited by load-bearing capacity, operating routes, and power supply conditions, making it difficult to balance transport efficiency and operational safety.

Solution

Based on the customer's needs, Newld customized this 20 tons electric rail transfer cart equipped with a cable reel power supply system.

The transfer cart adopts a box-girder frame structure and high-strength cast steel wheels, and is equipped with a cable drum, automatic cable guide, and guide posts. The power supply system provides continuous power directly through cables, eliminating the limitations of battery life and meeting the needs of 24-hour high-intensity continuous sandblasting operations.

Equipped with cast steel wheels, a wired and wireless dual control system, audible and visual warning devices, and an emergency stop protection module, a dedicated track is laid along the sandblasting booth's operating route, enabling direct transfer of workpieces from the pretreatment area to the sandblasting station.

Applications

During the transfer of structural components in a sandblasting booth, operators place the workpiece on the platform of the electric rail transfer cart and control the cart to move along a preset track via remote control or a wired handle.

The cable reel moves with the cart, unwinding and rewinding the cable. Combined with the cable guide and conductor posts, the cable layout is maintained, minimizing wear and snagging during frequent loading and unloading. This ensures a smooth transition from loading, sandblasting, to unloading of structural components. It also helps the equipment handle the transfer of heavy workpieces during the sandblasting process.
