In transformer production workshops, transformer casings are typically large and heavy, making traditional forklifts or fixed-rail handling equipment susceptible to limitations imposed by aisle width and route constraints. When frequent route adjustments are needed, fixed rail systems struggle to accommodate the transfer needs between different workstations, increasing the difficulty of managing heavy-duty materials.
Solution
To address the customer's needs, Newld designed this 20 tons battery powered trackless steerabe transfer cart.
The cart features a cast steel, modular, heavy duty frame with a flat, large platform for easy placement and stacking of transformer casings. Power comes from high capacity industrial batteries, which, when paired with a portable smart charger, can be readily recharged at the workstation.
The drive system utilizes high-load-bearing polyurethane wheels that do not damage epoxy flooring and have a small turning radius, enabling on-the-spot turning and lateral adjustments even in narrow aisles.
The steerable transfer cart is equipped with both wireless remote control and wired handle for operation, allowing workers to switch freely according to their workstation needs. Audible and visual warning lights and emergency stop buttons are installed at the front and rear of the vehicle. A laser sensor scans the travel path in real time, automatically slowing down and stopping upon encountering obstacles.

The laser sensing system monitors obstacles in real time, and the shock absorption system effectively smooths out undulations, ensuring that high-value shell structures are transported without collision or damage.
