A smart manufacturing company frequently needs to transfer workpieces, production materials, and large molds between different workstations during its production process. Meanwhile, fixed-track handling equipment, limited by its operating routes, struggles to meet the demands of production line adjustments, equipment layout changes, and flexible multi-area transportation, impacting overall production rhythm.

Solution

Newld, addressing the client's needs for heavy duty handling and flexible scheduling in the workshop, designed a 1 ton lithium battery powered trackless Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). The AGV measures 1500x1100x500mm.

The automated guided vehicle is equipped with Mecanum wheels, supporting zero-radius omnidirectional translation; it features a PLC control system and a precision positioning module, achieving millimeter-level precise docking between workstations. It offers both wireless remote control and wired handle operation modes, and a smart charging station enables unmanned recharging.

Applications

The automated guided vehicle supports remote scheduling for temporary tasks. It can perform on-the-spot turning and lateral movement in narrow passages without requiring large turning areas.
After deployment, the AGV primarily handles the automated transport of workpieces, materials, and large molds within the production workshop. Between different production stations, the AGV transfers materials according to a pre-set route and achieves rapid docking with processing equipment and tooling platforms through precise positioning. Compared to traditional handling methods, this equipment reduces manual intervention and improves workshop logistics efficiency.
