Battery Trackless Transfer Cart Enables Flexible Cross-Line Turntable Transport
Production Challenges
Large rotary drilling rig turntables weigh over ten tons each. Production workshops need to maintain open and clean spaces, and precise transfer is required. Furthermore, to reduce the difficulty of workshop modifications, a simpler loading and unloading device is needed to ensure efficient scheduling.
Solution
Based on the customer's actual application needs, Newld designed this 15 tons battery powered trackless transfer cart.
The transfer cart uses a cast steel spliced frame structure, equipped with steering wheel-like polyurethane wheels, allowing for 90-degree steering and 360-degree rotation on the spot.
It can move freely in and out of existing workshop aisles without the need for fixed tracks, fundamentally overcoming the operational limitations of track layouts. A 1-meter stroke hydraulic lifting device is added to the platform, allowing it to autonomously connect to production line workstations of different heights for loading and unloading, completely eliminating the need for external hoisting assistance.

Advantages
- Easy Operation: The trackless transfer cart uses both wireless remote control and wired handle control. The remote control ensures safe deployment while allowing operators to monitor the operation in real time. The handle facilitates operation and precise adjustments for maintenance personnel during inspections. Real-time battery level display and a portable charger allow for on-the-spot charging, eliminating distance limitations.
- Safe Operation: The transfer cart is equipped with a series of safety devices. Laser sensors ensure precise alignment, and multiple safety features include audible and visual warnings, safety edges, and an emergency stop button. The safety edges instantly cut off power to the transporter upon contact, ensuring smooth, impact-free heavy-load operation and protecting the precision machining surfaces of the turntable from damage.

Applications
After installation, the trackless transfer cart can directly connect to multiple drilling rig assembly lines, autonomously transporting the turntable point-to-point from the machining station to the assembly line.
During operation, the transfer cart adjusts its direction by flexibly steering, performing longitudinal, lateral, and in-situ rotations. The hydraulic lifting platform adjusts the load-bearing height, facilitating loading, unloading, and docking between the turntable and the production line. The battery level display screen allows for easy monitoring of the equipment's power level, and the portable charger meets daily production needs.
