Production Challenges

During maintenance of mine-specific railways and factory freight lines in the field, previous repair operations required separate arrangements of personnel vehicles and small hoisting equipment, leading to cumbersome equipment scheduling.Long distance field operations were limited by power supply lines, restricting transport distances and making the lifting of small materials such as rails, sleepers, and fasteners inconvenient, while also posing insufficient safety risks for personnel during transport.

Solution

Addressing these pain points in mining operations, Newld customized a 5 tons battery powered rail maintenance vehicle.

Customized Structure: A 360° rotating cantilever crane is installed in the center of the platform, allowing for on-site lifting and unloading of sleepers, rails, and accessories, eliminating the need to wait for external hoisting equipment.

Safety railings are installed on both sides of the customized platform, equipped with multiple safety seats, allowing maintenance personnel to move along the line. The platform also provides space for material placement, enabling a single trip for both personnel and materials. Support legs are added to the four corners of the vehicle to maintain balance during lifting operations.

Advantages

• Highly Efficient Loading and Unloading: The rail maintenance vehicle features a 360° omnidirectional rotating cantilever crane integrated in the center of the platform, allowing for on-site lifting of sleepers, rails, and fasteners. Combined with outriggers at the four corners of the vehicle, the vehicle remains stable during lifting, eliminating the need for additional lifting equipment.
• Integrated Personnel and Material Carrying: The customized platform features a rationally planned area, with ample space on one side for spare parts and tools, and safety railings on both sides, along with multiple onboard safety seats, ensuring safe transfer and efficient collaboration for maintenance personnel.
• Safety Protection: The rail maintenance vehicle is equipped with an LED display screen and a power display screen, providing clear information on the operating status. Combined with audible and visual warning lights, yellow safety barriers at both ends, and an emergency stop button, multiple active and passive safety features are provided to reduce inspection risks.
