Production Line Lifting RGV for Mold Transportation
Production Challenges
A large-scale equipment manufacturing enterprise required inter-zone transportation of heavy duty frames and large workpieces along its production line. The original handling method, constrained by tracks, suffered from limited operational range, instability during heavy load transport, reliance on manual loading and unloading, and low efficiency.
Solution
Based on the customer's requirements and actual working conditions, we designed and manufactured a customized battery powered rail guided vehicle (RGV) system.
The RGV features a box-beam structure, offering strong load-bearing capacity and resistance to deformation. To withstand high temperature environments, the vehicle's motors and electrical systems have been treated with high temperature protection.

To address loading and unloading challenges, the vehicle is equipped with a custom hydraulic lifting platform that enables automatic alignment with workstations. Additionally, the RGV is fitted with cast steel wheels to endure heavy load wear and incorporates wireless remote control and intelligent coding control systems, enabling precise movement and positioning across workshops.
Advantages
This solution is powered by an eco-friendly and efficient lithium battery, offering unlimited operational range and completely eliminating the constraints of cable reels. Its exceptional heavy load capacity makes it perfectly suited for transporting 30 tons frames. The intelligent control system and multiple operation modes significantly simplify the workflow.

Application
In practical use, the operator uses a wireless remote controller to precisely position the RGV at the docking station. After the frame is placed, the vehicle automatically navigates through a high temperature corridor to reach the painting workshop. When the vehicle approaches workers or obstacles, the laser based dead man stop and safety edge sensors instantly trigger an emergency stop. An LED display on the vehicle provides real-time updates on battery level and task status, while a three colors audible and visual warning light continuously emits safety alerts during operation.
The implementation of this RGV has enabled autonomous loading and unloading of large workpieces and unmanned heavy load transport, resolving the operational limitations of traditional transportation methods.
