20 Tons Customized Non-power Without Rail Towed Transfer Cart
Production Challenges
This mold manufacturing plant specializes in processing large injection and die-casting molds, with individual finished molds typically weighing 12-18 tons. The existing forklift transport method was significantly limited: forklifts had poor stability when climbing slopes and turning in narrow alleys; under heavy loads, only one mold could be transported at a time; transport distances between work sections within the factory were long; forklift fuel consumption was high; and exhaust fumes polluted the workshop environment.

Solution
Based on the customer's actual needs and application scenarios, we designed and manufactured this 20 tons non-powered without rail towed transfer cart. Dedicated heavy duty rails were laid according to the workshop workstation layout. The platform dimensions were custom-made to fit the mold base shape, and a traction hook structure was included. It works in conjunction with a factory tractor for coordinated towing operations, adaptable to all processing sections throughout the factory.
Advantages
The non-power without rail towed transfer cart has no onboard power system and can operate solely by external towing, free from limitations on range, operating time, and transfer distance. The entire machine consumes no fuel and emits zero exhaust emissions, meeting the workshop's environmental production standards. Its 20-ton rated load easily covers the vast majority of heavy mold transfer needs across the entire plant. The frame and platform can be customized as needed.

Applications
After this non-power without rail towed transfer cart was put into use, all processes in the workshop—from raw material billet entry to semi-finished mold cross-process transfer and finished mold exit—were handled by this cart. A single trip can simultaneously transport multiple sets of small and medium-sized molds, while large and heavy molds can be reliably transferred one piece at a time. It can operate continuously around the clock without time constraints.
