30 Tons Battery Steerable Transfer Cart for Large Mold Handling
Production Challenges
The company's molds weigh up to 28 tons each, and the original handling relied on overhead cranes and rail transfer carts. Overhead crane scheduling was frequent, hoisting was slow, and mold loading and unloading were difficult. Rail transfer carts were limited to fixed routes, and after the new mold production line was put into operation, cross-workshop transfers required detours.
Solution
Based on the customer's needs and actual application scenarios, we designed and manufactured this 30 tons battery powered trackless steerable transfer cart, completely eliminating the constraints of rail transfer carts. The steerable transfer cart body uses a cast steel frame, and the platform integrates a hydraulic lifting system, which can be directly used with mold carriers.
It is equipped with polyurethane wheels (high temperature and wear resistant), a wired handle and wireless remote control dual-mode, audible and visual warning lights, an emergency stop button, a laser sensor, and safety touch edges. Powered by industrial batteries, a portable charger on board allows for rapid recharging, and there are no distance limitations.

Application
Between the die-casting workshop and the mold warehouse, this steerable transfer cart, operated remotely, precisely drives the mold carrier under the press;
the lifting platform lifts the carrier, smoothly connects the mold, and lowers it to the transport position;
upon arrival at the destination, it is lifted again, and the carrier with the mold is directly and precisely placed at the target workstation—the entire process can be completed remotely by one person.
