40 Tons Battery Powered Trackless Automated Guided Vehicle
Production Challenges
A large equipment manufacturing company had long been hampered by the cross-workshop transfer of heavy workpieces and large molds. Traditional overhead cranes and rail-guided RGVs were limited by fixed paths, requiring the ground to be disturbed and tracks re-laid when new production lines were being built, resulting in extremely low flexibility.
Solution
Based on the customer's needs and the actual application environment, we designed and manufactured this 40 tons lithium battery powered trackless Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). The vehicle body uses a cast steel frame with a flat platform for even load distribution.
Trackless automated guided vehicle power comes from high-density lithium batteries, which are quickly recharged during work breaks using intelligent charging stations.
The control system integrates a PLC and laser sensor device, along with safety touch edges, audible and visual warning lights, and multiple emergency stop buttons, achieving precise navigation and active protection under heavy loads. Operators can choose between wireless remote control or wired handle. The vehicle is equipped with an LED display screen and a power display screen, providing a clear overview of the status.

Applications
In a large mold manufacturing workshop involved in this collaboration, this 40 tons trackless automated guided vehicle undertakes the flexible transport of workpieces, materials, and oversized molds between core work sections. Through the dual LED and power display screens, operators can monitor the equipment status in real time. The AGV flexibly navigates the complex work area, perfectly solving the challenges of complex heavy load transportation across multiple stations and areas.
