Production Challenges

A large manufacturing company faced a significant challenge in the daily operation of its production workshop: the cross-line transfer of coiled materials. Traditional transfer methods were limited by battery life, poor positioning accuracy, and low efficiency of manual loading and unloading, making it difficult to meet the demands of multi-station, high-intensity continuous production. Furthermore, cluttered workshop floors and dragging cables posed safety hazards.

Solution

Based on the client's needs, Newld customized a 40-ton safety conductor rail power supply Rail Guided Vehicle(RGV) for the workshop.

Power Supply and Safety: Utilizing an embedded safety conductor rail (placed in a pre-reserved cement slot in the workshop and equipped with a dust cover), it enables uninterrupted continuous operation, ensuring workshop cleanliness; equipped with laser sensors, audible and visual warning lights, an LED display screen, and an emergency stop button, it constructs a comprehensive safety barrier.

Customized Platform and Conveyor: The platform integrates chain-driven rollers and a hydraulic clamping device for clamping and securing molds during transfer.

Advantages

• No Operating Time Limits: The sliding contact line is continuously powered, enabling 24/7 uninterrupted operation with no time restrictions.
• Suitable Applications: The customized platform adapts to different mold and steel coil specifications. Operation only requires inputting the target workstation into the central control unit for automatic operation. Laser sensor positioning accuracy is controlled within ±5mm, and multiple safety features comply with workshop production standards.

Applications
In actual production, this rail guided vehicle travels between different production lines.

Its customized roller platform seamlessly integrates with existing hydraulic lifting platforms in the workshop. Through the coordinated operation of self-driven rollers and hydraulic rods, it autonomously completes the safe loading, unloading, precise positioning, and cross-process transfer of coil materials and their transport brackets.
