Production Challenges

Large box-shaped workpieces require movement between different processing areas during production. Traditional forklifts or fixed conveyor systems are easily limited by aisle width, transfer distance, and site layout. When workpieces are large and heavy, manual transfer is not only inefficient but also struggles to ensure stability during transport.

Solution

Based on the customer's needs, Newld designed this 12 tons lithium battery powered trackless Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV).

According to the workshop's requirement for transporting 14 meters long extra-large box-shaped workpieces, the AGV is specifically adapted to a 14000x4000x900mm cast steel modular chassis.

The vehicle achieves flexible steering through steering wheels and uses a Laser Sensor Device for path and position recognition, enabling the equipment to autonomously transfer materials between different areas of the workshop.

• Heavy Duty and Flexible: The 12 tons heavy load capacity combined with 0-20m/min stepless speed regulation and steering wheel drive allows the extra-long vehicle to turn smoothly and move precisely even in narrow aisles.
• Multiple Safety Features: Automated guided vehicle integrating laser obstacle avoidance sensors, safety edges, emergency stop buttons, and audible and visual warning lights, this system creates a comprehensive safety net to effectively prevent collision risks.
• Convenient Human-Machine Interaction: Supports three operation modes: touchscreen control, wireless remote control, and wired handle. Combined with an LED display screen, the vehicle's operating status is visible in real time and is easily understood.

Applications
In the production workshop, this trackless automated guided vehicle undertakes the task of moving large box-shaped workpieces across the processing area, assembly area, and finished product area.

After the workpiece is hoisted into place, the operator starts it with a single button press via wireless remote control. The AGV then safely and smoothly transports the box to the target workstation according to the preset path, without requiring the laying of tracks and occupying no fixed space on the workshop floor.
