15 Tonne Battery Operated Transfer Cart for Carriage Handling
Production Challenges
A railway maintenance section needed to move repaired carriages from the depot to the storage line. Previously, diesel-powered tractors were used to tow steel cables, but the numerous track crossings made the cables prone to derailment. Switching to cable powered transfer carts was problematic due to cable length limitations, consistently hindering railway maintenance, relocation, and storage operations.
Solution
Based on the client's specific needs, Newld designed this 15 tonne battery operated transfer cart.
The transfer cart features a box-girder frame with a flat platform to support heavy duty carriages and related tooling.
Powered by batteries, the cart is not limited by external power supply distance and includes a portable charger for easy recharging as needed.
A combination of wireless remote control and wired handle control, along with a power display screen, audible and visual warning lights, and an emergency stop button, makes operation more flexible.

Applications
The battery operated transfer cart is primarily responsible for transferring cargo from the loading/unloading area to the parking area.
The pallet truck precisely connects to heavy duty cargo, and staff can smoothly complete the movement, docking, and inter-area transfer of cargo via wireless remote control from a distance. The entire process is smooth, significantly reducing manual labor intensity.
