2 Tons Electric Rail Guided Vehicle for Train Coal Cleaning
Production Challenges
A large energy and processing workshop faced challenges when clearing surplus coal from trains, including heavy transport loads, limited operating time for traditional equipment, and low efficiency and safety hazards associated with manual clearing. Simultaneously, the transfer route placed stringent demands on high-precision automated docking and continuous, uninterrupted operation.
Solution
Based on the client's specific needs and production environment, Newld designed this 2 tons low voltage railway powered electric Rail Guided vehicle (RGV).
The vehicle body utilizes a high-strength box girder frame structure and features insulated wheels, carbon brushes, and conductive posts to ensure stable power supply and safe rail insulation.
Hydraulic rods are added to the body, working in conjunction with a customized docking carriage for efficient automated unloading. Additionally, a dustproof enclosure for the electrical box and a PLC control system enable fully automated docking, transfer, and dumping of surplus coal.

Advantages
- Safety: The box girder frame and insulated wheels ensure electrical safety in humid and dusty environments. Wireless remote control and wired handle operation offer flexible and convenient operation.
- Automated Transfer: The hydraulic tipping mechanism, combined with a customized carriage, automatically loads the coal after docking with the unloading device. Upon arrival at the discharge area, it hydraulically tilts and unloads, eliminating manual loading and unloading. Positioning accuracy reaches ±5mm, meeting precise docking requirements.

Application
In actual operation, the rail guided vehicle receives instructions and precisely travels to the production workshop, seamlessly aligning with the automatic docking and unloading device to receive the remaining coal from the train.
Subsequently, the RGV quickly and smoothly transfers the coal along a set track to the designated discharge area, where the hydraulic tipping mechanism automatically dumps the coal. It then automatically returns, achieving a closed-loop reciprocating cycle.
During operation, only one operator is needed to start the equipment wirelessly. An LED screen displays the load and operating status in real time. Once full, the rail guided vehicle automatically travels to the unloading area, where a hydraulic rod drives the tipping bucket for automatic unloading. No personnel contact with the coal is required throughout the process, making it suitable for harsh working conditions with high dust and humidity.
